Thank You Very Much

Hi there, everybody.

Now is the sad moment when we all say goodbye and thank you very much for following this blog. I appreciate your kindness for being such a nice bloggers.

For the final post, I decided to make a summery of the whole AUBG club tutorial we had so far. The journey began with More Honors. The club itself is  is one of the oldest clubs at AUBG making it almost 20 years old. It presents a big event during late April, which gives awards to students and staff making it to look like “The Golden Raspberry Awards”. The crew provides loads of funny videos for each category they make every year.

After More Honors the time came for AUBG Olympics. It is the biggest sports club on campus, organizing a huge events annually at mid April. On these days, all students and staff can participate on near 30 sports. But that’s by far not all. The club established traditions such as lightening up the Olympics fire, making huge barbecue lunch for everybody and more and more. But the most important of them all is that the members stick together as ones, driving the club with enormous strength.

The third presented club was Rock Jamming Club. They are playing some hardcore music on different events, including recruitment of other clubs. The “Rock Jams” are famous on campus with their sense of good music and their feel of rock.

The next in line was The Broadway Performance Club. It is a great initiative, made by AUBG students, who choose different musical every year. They gather together and perform their own version of the chosen Musical in front of the whole university. And if that’s not enough, they make tourneys around Bulgaria to stage their performance on different cities such as Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, etc.

Afterwards it came time for Radio Aura. Found in March 1993, this is one of the first broadcast media by students in Bulgaria. Radio Aura is full of original and creative shows, hosted by young enthusiasts, ready to express their opinions, laughter and fun on air.

The next club in line was a brand new club – The Fitness and Health Club. The whole idea behind it is to promote healthy living alongside with having fun with friends and other people.

Next in line was Start Up Blagoevgrad. Basically this is an event during mid March when different guest speakers present start up companies or give examples how to achieve with your own business. It is a useful day no matter if you are part of the club or not.

The following was The Drama Club at AUBG. Most of you know it not by its official name, but as individual plays. What people do there? Students who are good at acting, gather together and perform a theatrical play once per semester in the ABF Student Center. Since there are so many applicants, the number of individual plays is quite big.

The last club in this journey was Moving Pictures Club. People eager to create full-length movies will gather together and will write, shoot and edit one annually. It is a club with a big potential which combines many spheres of interests – writing, acting, technical issues and so on.

Besides all these clubs presented, there were some posts which were a bit off topic. Such an example is the About page which shows the idea of the blog itself.

Other examples are the beginning of the blog itself, the very first five-shot video, the Midterm, the Midterm post and Storify and Thinglink.

The final conclusion of the blog is that it doesn’t matter in which club students are in, but the people that will meet there. All of the interviewed ones told one and the same thing – they met their new family in the club they are part of. Therefore, all the clubs have their own charm and it is worth it to join any of them.

Thank you for the time dedicated to read this blog. You all were fantastic. And since it is almost Christmas, here is a video which shows some club activities on one of the most famous holiday songs:

Lights, Camera, Action

Hi there, bloggers. It is the sad time to present the very last AUBG club on this blog. I was thinking long days and nights which one should it be and I decided to give a chance to a brand new club.

Most of you most probably haven’t heard it yet, but the reason behind it is that it just got recognized last week. The name is Moving Pictures Club.

The whole idea behind it is the following: People eager to create full-length movies will gather together and will write, shoot and edit one annually. It is a club with a big potential which combines many spheres of interests – writing, acting, technical issues and so on.

The guest today is the vice president – Maxim Tzvetkov. He is one of the founders of the club and a member of the script writing department. “I am eager about cinema ever since I can remember,” Tzvetkov said. He added that the idea of such club made him eager and enthusiastic about contributing to it.

Will this club make it to the bigs? One way to find out! And for all of you who can’t wait for the holidays to come, watch that Christmas video starring Max and Santa:

It’s Time For Drama

Hi again, bloggers!

We are almost finished with our club tutorial. So , I decided to present you The Drama Club at AUBG. Most of you know it not by its official name, but as individual plays. What people do there? Students who are good at acting, gather together and perform a theatrical play once per semester in the ABF Student Center. Since there are so many applicants, the number of individual plays is quite big.

Today the guest of the blog is one of the most passionate actresses on campus. Her name is Ana Milkova and she played almost each semester of her experience here at AUBG. She is a devoted person to drama, theaters and quality acting. She is easy to recognize in each of her plays by her noticeable charisma.

“I think that this is the best place to relieve stress from life,” Milkova said. According to her, acting reveals the true soul of a person and shows your abilities like no other activity can.

Here are some pictures of Milkova on the scene from previous semesters:

For all of you who want to hear part of her interview, you can play the soundbite uploaded below:

And especially for the ones who prefer videos, there is one here, which shows the purity in the soul of the actor:

Let Us All Start Up!

Hi again, chaps! Today we are looking at one of the new clubs with high popularity – Start Up. Basically this is an event during mid March when different guest speakers present start up companies or give examples how to achieve with your own business. It is a useful day no matter if you are part of the club or not.

Here to tell us all about Start Up, we have a new guest – Lyuba Popova. She is a Junior at AUBG and this is her third year at the club. Ever since she got recruited, she enjoyed every single bit of the time spend in Start Up Blagoevgrad.”The things I loved most about Start Up are the people you meet there, the atmosphere and that I can learn a lot of new stuff”.

Lyuba Popova is part of two departments – Design and Marketing. “I love both of the departments and I cannot say which one is better. They are so different yet so alike”, Popova said with a metaphor. Her interview showed how much she is into the club and that she would really like to promote it to other students as well. “I encourage everybody to try out, because you can only benefit from Start Up”.

When I asked her what presenter from last year should I show in my blog, she suggested Borislav Stefanov. Here is some information about his speech last March:

I decided to create a ThingLink page from the speech. Here is a snapshot from it, followed by the link:

Join the Clubs AUBG Goes Storify and Thinglink

Hi again, chaps! This is not a presentation of a new club, but instead is a post showing the upgreat of the technology in which we invested a lot of capital. This is Storify. Here is a quick presentation of what we did there. Hope you liked it!

Here is a link to the Storify story about the club:

And speaking of new technology, the team maintaining this blog decided to invest some more money for another useful application: Thinglink. You don’t know what is it? Well, here is one picture to get the general idea:

This is the Main Building at AUBG and the tags are some of the clubs on campus. And if that  makes you curious to check, here is a link to see the working page itself (with some info about each club):

Working Out Time

Haven’t seen you for a while, chaps! It’s time to present the next club on the list. It is a newborn extracurricular – The Fitness and Health Club.

It originates since this semester and it is a growing club with future potential. The whole idea behind it is to promote healthy living alongside with having fun with friends and other people.

This is exactly the reason why I interviewed the treasurer – Elena Doncheva. She is part of this activity since the dawn of the club. Her motivations are to make the club much bigger by recruiting many more enthusiasts, ready to develop it. But that cause takes time. “I decided to go to that club because healthy lifestyle forms me as a character”, Doncheva said in her interview. She believes that “when people do something that their hearts is leading them to, they should never quit”.

Here is part of “Fitness and Health” Club’s very first treasures:

Besides the club, Doncheva is encouraging all AUBG students to start going to fitness. “It is not only about extracurricular activities, it makes a person feel refreshed and full or energy”. Her intentions are to continue doing different sports whilst trying to convince students that they do not only need to sit in front of the books, but to train as well. Here is a motivational video with Doncheva participating:

Halfway Through

Hi again, dear followers!

It is half of the semester, therefore half of the clubs presented in this blog are out. For those of you who haven’t made their final choice, here is what we had so far:

The first covered club was More Honors. This club presents a big event during late April, which gives awards to students and staff making it to look like “The Golden Raspberry Awards”. The crew provides loads of funny videos for each category they make every year.

The second on the list was AUBG Olympics. This is the biggest sports club on campus, organizing a huge events annually at mid April. On these days, all students and staff can participate on near 30 sports.

Then it was time for Rock Jamming Club. A club which is playing some hardcore music on different events, including recruitment of other clubs.

They gather together and perform their own version of the chosen Musical in front of the whole university. And if that’s not enough, they make tourneys around Bulgaria to stage their performance on different cities such as Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, etc.

The last covered club so far is Radio Aura. This is one of the first broadcast media by students in Bulgaria. Radio Aura is full of original and creative shows, hosted by young enthusiasts, ready to express their opinions, laughter and fun on air.

As you can see, those are some of the biggest clubs on campus. But then again so many are not covered yet. Stay with the blog and read all about the other on campus clubs!
